Marvel shows commitment

Stefanie Marvel and her opponent both care deeply about historic Hailey. That's great. But what about the future Hailey? Stefanie wants new builders to help pay for the increase in city services that will be needed when people move into their developments—a good solution for keeping up with population growth. Stefanie thinks that when a full-grown, healthy tree is cut down on public property, another tree should be planted somewhere in the city to offset the loss.

Stefanie has demonstrated almost 20 years of service to the city of Hailey, including starting the Friends of Hailey Library and most recently three years on Planning and Zoning Commission. Anyone who has ever attended a special committee meeting knows these are long meetings and require a huge commitment of time. For the person who serves on these committees, the meetings are only half the job. Even more time is spent on preparation, reading materials, and receiving feedback from the public. Stefanie Marvel knows this, has experienced it for years, and is still willing to keep doing it because she really cares about the future of our city.

A public servant should be committed and accessible. Stefanie has shown Hailey that she is both. Stefanie is always reachable and wants your feedback. Her opponent, however, is a full-time lawyer and father of two young boys. He has never served on any committee for Hailey. It's hard to imagine that he will be able to commit the same amount of time to City Council that Stefanie can give or that he will be as accessible for input from the public. If you want someone to represent you fairly as a citizen and a homeowner in Hailey, vote for Stefanie.
