Lenier ?Smitty? Smith


Lenier "Smitty" Smith, 76, passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center in Ketchum, Idaho.

He was born Oct. 22, 1931, to Charles and Elodia Smith in Gooding, Idaho. Those that loved him called him Smitty. Lenier enjoyed the mountains; he loved cutting wood, fishing and hunting. He is survived by his brother, Albert Smith, of Concord, Calif.

In 1951, he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served for two years. Most of the time was spent in the Korean War zone. After his release from the army, he worked at the Sun Valley Lodge as a waiter.

Donations in memory of Lenier may be made to the Hospice of the Wood River Valley, Box 4320, Ketchum, ID 83340.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 26, at the Ketchum Cemetery.
