Get out running shoes for Turkey Trot

Thanksgiving Day in Hailey

Join the crowd and enter the Turkey Trot on Turkey Day.

The fourth annual Turkey Trot 5-kilometer run and walk is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 22 in Hailey. It starts and finishes at The Community Campus, Hailey. Among the sponsors are Blaine County Title and The Elephant's Perch of Ketchum. The run will be staged—snow or sunshine.

Runners will leave at 10 a.m. and be finished well before holiday meals. Last year, there was a record 330 participants. And there were 313 finishers—all raising money for the "Souper Supper" Community Dining Room that provides hot meals for those who need them.

Keep in mind that any donations of non-perishable items will be accepted for the run.

Pre-register until Wednesday, Nov. 21 at active.com at rates of $15 per person or $30 family (up to 5 immediate family members). If you decide to register Race Day, arrive by 9 a.m. and be prepared to pay $30 or $70. Race packet pick-up is available Wednesday, Nov. 21 at the Blaine County Title office above Shorty's Diner in Hailey, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Top runners last year were Brad Mitchell (18:29) and Angenie McCleary (20:29). Visit haileyturkeytrot.com.
