Local racers place high in Crosstoberfest races

Hochmuht wins state championship

Ketchum racer Kasey Hochmuht won a state championship Sunday at the Crosstoberfest cyclocross races in Ketchum.

Sunday's races were designated as the Idaho State championships and Hochmuht placed first in the Category 3 Women competition.

Six other local racers placed in the top three in Sunday's events. Sean McLaughlin and Brett Hanson, both of Ketchum, placed second and third respectively in the Master 35+ Men race.

Other Second place finishes were record by Marshall Reyburn, Hailey, Junior 10-15 Mixed; Scott Krankkala, Hailey, Junior 16018 Mixed; Cody Peterson, Hailey, Pro Category 1-2 Men; and India Wysong, Hailey, Category 3 Women.

More than 100 racers from Idaho, Utah, Washington and Wyoming competed in Saturday's and Sunday's events at River Run Lodge. The races were organized by the Sun Valley Road and Dirt cycling club in cooperation with Sun Valley Company.
