Hailey police investigate hit and run

The Hailey Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred Friday night at the Balmoral apartments in the Woodside area of southeast Hailey.

Hailey Police Chief Jeff Gunter said an unknown driver caused several thousand dollars in damage when the driver crashed into two parked cars at Building E at about 9:15 p.m.

The vehicle that allegedly caused the damage, a 1992 blue Ford Taurus, was located about an hour later parked at 2850 Glenbrook Drive in the Woodside area.

"We don't have a suspect, but we do have the suspect's vehicle in impound," Gunter said Monday. "Now, we're just looking for the suspect."

Gunter said police are uncertain who was driving the Taurus at the time of the accident.
