?It?s de-limit?

Wood River High School Players to present ?Anything Goes?

There is nothing quite as marvelous as a chirpy, beautifully realized production of the Cole Porter 1934 musical "Anything Goes." From Porter's classic music and clever lyrics to the collaborative book by such wits as Guy Bolton, P.G. Wodehouse, Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, it's frothy fun at its best.

The play will be presented by the Wood River High School Players—made up of Performing Arts Academy and Drama Club students—at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 1, 2 and 3 at the Community Campus theater in Hailey.

The Tony Award- and Drama Desk Award-winning show features such indelible American Standards as "I Get a Kick Out of You," "Easy to Love," "You're the Top" "De-Lovely" and "Let's Behave."

The songs, of which there are many, fill out the mixed-up tale of boy meets girl that takes place on a luxury liner sailing from New York to England. Among the seafaring travelers are a nightclub singer Reno Sweeny, the boy she loves, Billy Crocker, his one-time fiancée Hope Harcourt, her snobbish mother Evangeline, Hope's fiancé Sir Evelyn Oakleigh and the FBI's Public Enemy number 13 Moonface Martin. Naturally complications and romance ensue.

To help bring the musical to fruition, musical director R.L. Rowsey and set designer Joe Lavigne of The Company of Fools both lent a hand to the production. Sara Gorby from St. Thomas Episcopal Players choreographed most of the dance numbers while Hillary Neely, of the Footlight Dance Centre, handled the tap numbers.

"This is the first time the school's musical will be produced in the fall and the first time so many local professionals are involved," said director Becky Miller.

The principle cast consists of Isabelle Taylor as Reno Sweeny, Jeff Maxwell as Billy Crocker, Brita Gaeddert as Hope Harcourt, Gretchen Halle as Bonnie, Jesse White as Sir Evelyn Oakleigh and Hanna Blumenfeld as Mrs. Wadsworth T. Harcourt.

Available at the door and at Iconoclast Books, tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for students and $40 for VIP reserved seating. For more information call Miller at 578-5020, ext. 2228.
