Vote for Lamb and Boand

The city of Sun Valley has two City Council seats in contention for the Nov. 6, 2007, election. From personal experience working with each of them, during my tenure on the Sun Valley Planning and Zoning Commission, I personally recommend both Joan Lamb and Blair Boand as being the best candidates for those seats.

I believe both Joan and Blair are eminently qualified to help the city of Sun Valley as a result of their experience gained having served several years on the Sun Valley Planning and Zoning Commission. Each provided a thoughtful, thorough and balanced approach to understanding and evaluating the issues on behalf of our individual residents and the community as a whole.

Additionally, I had the pleasure of serving with Joan and Blair on the Steering Committee for the recent "City of Sun Valley Comprehensive Plan Update," and can offer from firsthand experience. The planning document was developed over a period of 14 months, consisting of numerous meetings and hundreds of volunteer hours. Joan and Blair, again, provided studied insight and leadership assisting the committee over the entire fourteen-month period to achieve a guiding document for the future of our community. It was the most deliberate and publicly available process in which I have ever participated.

I hope we will each pause for clarity of thought in our personal assessment of the candidates presenting themselves for office. The Sun Valley City Council evaluates serious matters for our community and is a far too important representative and leadership position to do otherwise.
