Fritz Haemmerle has taken on the issues of responsible handling of public funds and protecting individual rights of community members time and again. This track record, his family's long history of contributions to the valley, and his reputation for integrity are important factors in our decision to support him for City Council. We also recognize that the council will be deliberating over complicated issues, including water resource management, and could benefit from Fritz's experience as special master of the Snake River Adjudication and his legal background. These factors carry far greater weight in our decision than, say, the needs of special interest groups such as real estate agents or developers.

Attracting talented people to public service is important in every community. We are fortunate in Hailey to have capable, civic-minded people willing to serve. Our challenge as citizens is to match the abilities of a candidate to the responsibilities of the office. We will be voting for Fritz Haemmerle for Hailey City Council on Election Day, and we encourage our friends and neighbors to do the same.
