Ketchum mugging report remains unsolved

By TERRY SMITH

The Ketchum Police Department has been unable to resolve a report of a mugging in the early morning hours following the Kick Ash Bash concert on Sept. 29.

But police have little to go on.

The alleged victim of the mugging was reportedly intoxicated at the time and provided investigators with scant information.

Ketchum police investigated the incident after they were called to a possible "fight in progress" at 2:26 a.m. in the alley behind the old Williams Market building on Main Street. When police arrived, they found a man who reported he'd been assaulted and $5 had been taken from his wallet.

"He was unable to make an ID because he was too intoxicated at the time," police spokeswoman Kim Rogers said Wednesday. "Those were his words."

The investigation hasn't gotten much further than that. In fact, Rogers referred to the incident as a "dead deal."

"I don't have any doubt that something happened," Rogers said. "But we don't have much to go on."
