Four-car collision slows morning commute

An accident involving four vehicles slowed the morning commute considerably Tuesday.
Ketchum Fire Chief Mike Elle said emergency personnel were dispatched at 7:15 a.m. to an accident just north of the Gimlet turnoff on state Highway 75 south of Ketchum. The accident occurred in the northbound lane.
“We transported three people to the hospital with minor injuries,” he said.
Two pickup trucks at the scene showed considerable front-end damage.
Traffic flow was temporarily stopped in both directions after the accident. Ketchum Fire Department and Blaine County Sheriff’s Office responders eventually established two lanes for traffic to move slowly north and south.
Nonetheless, several northbound commuters reported travel times from Hailey to Ketchum of at least one hour, about twice the average time.
