Wood River girls win tri-meet

Boys place second at Nampa United competition


Wood River High School's girls' swim team placed first at last Saturday's Nampa United tri-meet, besting competitors from Twin Falls and Nampa United.

The Wood River boys placed second behind Twin Falls.

Team scores for the girls were Wood River 517, Twin Falls 236 and Nampa United 158.

Team scores for the boys were Twin Falls 410.5, Wood River 180.5 and Nampa United 148.

The WR girls won all three relays, the 200 Free, 400 Free and the 200 Medley, while the boys won the 200 Free and the 400 Free relays.

Wood River swimmers will compete Saturday at regionals in Twin Falls. State competition is scheduled for Nov. 2-3.

First--Racheal McGinnis 50 Free and 100 Free; Jon Atkinson 50 Free and 100 Free; Megan Hayes 100 Fly; Taylor Coiner 500 Free; Natalie Hague 100 Back.

Second--Taylor Straley 200 IM; Gene Fairbrother 50 Free; Michael Coiner 100 Free; Lacey Werley 100 Back; Hayes 100 Breast.

Third--Hague 200 Free; Sarah Brown 200 IM and 100 Back; Max Jones 50 Free; Jessica Pennington 100 Fly; Werley 100 Free; Straley 500 Free.

Fourth--T. Coiner 200 Free; Esther Williams 50 Free and 500 Free; Sophie Nosworthy 100 Free.

Fifth--M. Coiner 200 Free; Nosworthy 100 Breast.

Sixth--Jones 100 Free.

Eighth--Pennington 100 Breast.

Ninth--Fairbrother 100 Free.

Eleventh--Matt Lichtenberg 100 Free
