Horizon to resume California flights

Horizon Air announced on Monday, Oct. 15, that it will resume seasonal nonstop flights from Hailey's Friedman Memorial Airport to Oakland and Los Angeles starting Saturday, Dec. 15.

According to the schedule on Horizon's Web site, the schedule for winter flights from the two California cities to the Wood River Valley will be:

- Depart Friedman daily at 8:50 a.m. and arrive in Oakland at 9:50 a.m. Depart Oakland at 10:30 a.m. and arrive at Friedman at 1:30 p.m.

- Depart Friedman daily at 3:40 p.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at 5:10 p.m. Depart Los Angeles at 5:45 p.m. and arrive in 9:10 p.m.

The winter flight schedule between these cities will run through April 5 and flights will be operated with 74-seat Q-400 turboprop aircraft.

Sun Valley Co. spokesman Jack Sibbach said the two California flights—which prior to 2006 were provided only with a guarantee from Sun Valley or the Ketchum-Sun Valley business community to ensure Horizon wouldn't incur monetary losses—will once again be provided without any revenue guarantees.

In addition, Horizon will continue to provide year-round daily nonstop service from Seattle to Friedman.
