Ride on the ?Peace Train?

Wood River Valley residents can join the "National Mobilization Day to End the War in Iraq," 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 in Salt Lake City.

There will be a "Peace Bus" going from the Wood River Valley to Salt Lake City. Residents can meet the charter bus at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Park and Ride lot, at Bullion and River streets in Hailey.

The demonstration will begin at the Utah State Capitol. An Iraq War veteran will give an opening address prior to a march down the hill to the Federal Building, where more activities and speeches are scheduled. The march culminates at Washington Square, 400 S. State St., in Salt Lake City. From 1 to 3 p.m., nationally recognized speakers will address the gathering. There will also be music and anti-war street performance groups and displays.

The rally is one of 11 demonstrations for peace to be held across the country. Others are planned in Boston, Chicago, Tennessee, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle.
