The second annual Bartender's Cup golf tournament was bigger and better than ever Sunday at Bigwood Golf Course. And the two Pioneer Saloon teams had an excellent day, placing first and third.
Fifteen teams turned out on a cool but sunny day this year compared to 10 teams in last fall's Bartender's Cup golf outing that was won by Il Naso.
Here are Sunday's results:
1st place—Pioneer Saloon #1 with Brian Golden, Tom Thompson, Mike Gersach and Eeva Praegitzer 55.9.
2nd place—Casino with Zach Venzon, Gary Moser, Mark Belanger and Kyle Westmoreland 56.5.
3rd place—Pioneer Saloon #2 with Stephanie Powley, Cliff Neely, Matt Kaufman and Matt Meador 57.7.
4th place—Fresshies with Bob Dunn, Jake Kraft, Adam Kraft and Mike Abaid 57.9.
5th place—Sushi on 2nd with Roger Roland, Mikie Geron, James Young and Jill Roland 58.3.
6th place—Mahoney's Bar & Grill with P.J. Spalding, Shaun Mahoney, Clic Bloomfield and Murph 60.7.
7th place—Il Naso with Dillon Witmer, Joel Evans, Shawn Tierney and Heather O'Leary 60.8.
Other teams were Cellar Pub (Pat McGee, Billy Cook, Mike Byerly and Tyler Corrock 63.0); Michel's Christiania (Jackie Damerel, Jolie Dunn, Sean Strong and Sparky Anderson 62.1); Cavallino (Mike Pirzynski, Aaron Fredrickson, Damon Farrar and David Henry 61.1); and Sawtooth Club (Cameron Leady, Dale Byington, Dan Lapata and Cody Proctor 61.8);
Also, Bigwood Grill (Tom Kennedy, Ian Griffith, Molly McCreedy and Pat Hickey 63.4); Rickshaw (Andreas Heaphy, Josh Solly, Cathy Largent and Brandon Rome 65.6); Grumpy's (Mike Shanks, Rewk Warrum, Matt Kendrick and Matt Stacey 62.4); and last but not least McClain's Pizzeria (McClain Balmer, Beka Williams, Kurt Schmidt and Kevin Rust 67.2 for the coveted "Oops" award).
Long drive winners were Matt Meador and Mikie Geron. Closest to the pin were Mark Belanger and Heather O'Leary.
Businesses donating to Sunday's golf tournament were Bigwood Golf, Bigwood Grill, Nouveaux Beverage, Mountain Fresh Produce, Hayden Beverage, S&C Imports and Tri-City Meat. All teams donated gift certificates as well.
