The Bliss Bears left The Community School boys' soccer squad a half-game short of a perfect record this season as the teams battled to a 3-3 draw on Wednesday on the Bear's home turf.

The tie dropped the Cutthroats to an 11-0-1 High Desert Soccer Conference record, but did nothing to shake their ranking as the top seed going into district tournament play. The Cutthroats are 13-0-1 overall.

Goals were scored against the Bears by Cutthroats Bergen Palmer, Connor Brown and Tanner Flanigan. Men of the Match were Brown and Mac Whittington.

Conference records for tournament play stood as follows Thursday morning: #1 The Community School (11-0-1), #2 Bliss (7-4-1), #3 Gooding (7-4), #4 Wendell (5-6-1), #5 Declo (4-6-1), #6 Filer (4-7-1) and #7 Buhl (0-10-1).

The tournament starts Saturday. The Cutthroat boys get a first-round bye and won't play until Monday.

Girls shutout Bliss 10-0

Meanwhile, The Community School girls held their Bliss counterparts scoreless with a 10-0 drubbing. The Cutthroat girls are also the top seed for tournament play, ending the regular season with a perfect 12-0 conference record and 14-1 mark overall.

Hannah Hennessy scored the hat trick Wednesday to lead the Cutthroat scoring onslaught. Jesse Curran contributed two goals. Other Cutthroats finding the net were Emma Wilander, Maddie-Kate Currie, Erica Eshman, Freya Dickey and Kerry Lee Nelson.
