For God or Allah, war kills

In his recent video released Sept. 11, Osama bin Laden urged sympathizers to "...join the 'caravan of martyrs,'" as he praised one of the Sept. 11 suicide hijackers.

"It is true that this young man was little in years, but the faith in his heart was big," he said. "The path of these noble young men ... is to destroy themselves for Allah's Word to be Supreme."

On Sept. 13, in an Associated Press story, President Bush praised a soldier recently killed in Baghdad, saying (his) family has "... suffered greatly. Yet in their sorrow, they see larger purpose. This country is blessed to have Americans like (this soldier), who make extraordinary sacrifices to keep us safe from harm. They are doing so in a fight that is just, and right, and necessary."

Perhaps our kids aren't choosing consciously to die, but it is war, and they will. And it will always be encouraged and honored and justified by those who are the least affected.

Power. Profit. Death.

In the name of "Allah." In the name of "God."

All of us so sure that we alone are right.
