The Ketchum-based ARCH Community Housing Trust will once again share its goal of creating affordable and sustainable housing with residents of the Wood River Valley during its third annual Community Housing Week, which will run from Tuesday through Friday, Sept. 25 through 28.

Sponsored by ARCH, along with the Blaine County Housing Authority, the week will feature workshops and presentations, held in Ketchum and Hailey, for homebuyers, employers, real estate professionals, government officials and concerned citizens.

Highlighting the events will be this year's keynote speaker, Dan Hoffman, a national employer-assisted housing expert who has spent two decades developing housing benefit programs. Hoffman will lead a workshop on employee recruitment and retention at noon on Wednesday at the nextStage Theater on Main Street in Ketchum and again at noon on Friday at the Community Campus in Hailey.

Rebekah Helzel, executive director of ARCH, said in a press release that Hoffman will work with attendees to find solutions for local employees to effectively participate in addressing workforce housing problems in the Ketchum area.

Also featured during the week will be Colin Bloch, director of homeownership at the nation's largest housing trust, the Champlain Housing Trust. Bloch will make a presentation on how community land trusts work and their advantages, which will take place at the Community Campus in Hailey at 10 a.m. on Friday.

The week's events will kick off at noon on Tuesday at the Roosevelt Tavern in Ketchum where the Blaine County Housing Authority presentation for developers, real estate agents and architects on how to meet inclusionary zoning requirements for jurisdictions in Blaine County.

Also included will be a student art competition that will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Liberty Theater in Hailey. The show will feature a variety of arts, including visual, performance, music and film, and $1,000 in prizes will be awarded.

All the events during Housing Week are free, and attendees will be eligible to win a ski pass, gym memberships, and restaurant gift certificates. For more detailed event information, visit the ARCH Web site at www.archbc.org.
