An 18-year-old Fairfield man died following a one-vehicle rollover Saturday near Fairfield. The accident injured three other young Fairfield residents.

Idaho State Police identified the dead man as Michael L. Stewart. He was pronounced dead Sunday at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

ISP reported that the accident remained under investigation Monday, and that they had not determined who was driving the vehicle or if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Another Fairfield man injured in the accident, 18-year-old Logan G. Ivie, remained in critical condition Monday afternoon, Saint Alphonsus spokesman Mike Vogel said.

ISP reported that Stewart and Ivie were airlifted to Saint Alphonsus following the accident at 2:20 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of 100 West and 100 North, which is about a mile west and a mile north of the city of Fairfield in Camas County.

Police reported that the accident occurred when the driver of the Toyota pickup lost control of the vehicle after it hit a patch of gravel and loose dirt in the intersection.

Another occupant, a 16-year-old Fairfield resident who police declined to identify, was treated at the scene. A fourth occupant, 19-year-old Tucker S. Hathaway, also of Fairfield, was transported to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center south of Ketchum and later released.
