Finger pointing

The public forum in this newspaper provides a valuable community resource in which people can voice their opinions on national and local issues. The views expressed are not those of the Idaho Mountain Express, but when a newspaper prints a letter it lends weight to the opinion expressed. I just read the letter "Should we point a finger" by Richard Hood and the xenophobic dribble expressed deserves no response, but I can't believe the paper printed it. This kind of hate mongering serves no purpose in public discourse.
