First conference win for Carey

Carey junior running Heith Adamson scored three touchdowns and senior Blake Whitby led a Panther defensive charge that throttled the host Richfield Tigers 50-0 Friday in a game ended in the third quarter by the 45-point mercy rule.

Winning its first Sawtooth Conference game, Carey (2-1, 1-0 league) out-rushed Richfield 258-59 and amassed 333 yards in total offense to 98 for Richfield (1-2, 0-1 league). It was Carey's third straight win over Richfield by a 151-6 combined score.

On offense, Whitby rushed 13 times for 141 yards and on the other side of the ball, he had nine tackles, five assists, one interception and two fumble recoveries.
