Labor Day in Ketchum will be a quiet one this year, as most activities and events have been canceled or rescheduled for a later date. In response to the Castle Rock Fire, city officials have encouraged the cancellation of several events due to smoke hazards and to keep city streets open for fire-fighting traffic.

A Gallery Walk scheduled for Friday, Aug 31, will not take place, and the Shakespeare Festival's "Much Ado About Nothing," which was scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 30, through Sunday, Sept. 2, in the Festival Field in Sun Valley, has also been canceled.

In addition, Bill Summers Antique Show at the nexStage Theatre was moved to Hailey.

Further cancellations include the Hemingway Chapter of Trout Unlimited meeting scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Roosevelt Tavern. The next meeting will be Thursday, Oct. 4, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Roosevelt.
