Save the life-saving pond

It has become apparent that the Hulen Meadows pond was a necessary source for water in containing the fires during back-burning. It's my understanding from recent comments from our county commissioners that their reason for not dredging the pond was due to lack of funding.

Since the Hulen Meadows pond was instrumental in the prevention of the spread of the Castle Rock Fire to residential homes, the commissioners should have FEMA provide the financial means to save this pond as a source for water for future fire suppression.
