Harry Robert "Bob" Jackson, 81, lifelong resident of Hailey, died on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, at his home in Hailey following a long illness.
He was born Sept. 9, 1925, in Hailey, and graduated from Hailey High School. He played football in high school and loved to follow the game throughout his life. He served aboard a submarine in the U.S. Navy during WW II.
Bob married Letitia Rutter. They operated the Western Auto store in Hailey. Bob was a licensed public accountant and certified tax consultant for many years, with an office on Main Street in Hailey.
He and Letitia were members of the Sawtooth Rangers Riding Club and the Good Sam RV Club. Bob was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Hailey Masonic Lodge AF & AM. Bob enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and riding ATVs with friends.
Survivors include many close friends, and one niece and one nephew. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Letitia, in 2002, his parents, and one brother, Preston, and one sister, Marie.
Memorial services are planned for 11 am, Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at the Hailey Cemetery. Graveside rites will be performed by the Hailey Masonic Lodge AF & AM, and military rites by the American Legion.
Arrangements are under the care of Wood River Chapel of Hailey.
