Thompson golf plays on, despite the fire

Golfers finish their tours for leukemia research

Strong and sturdy, 6-2, 180-pound Muskegon (Mich.) native Bobby Grich was a perfect blend of fielding prowess and hitting ability during a 17-year major league baseball career as a slick fielding second baseman with Baltimore (1970-76) and the California Angels (1977-86). The six-time All-Star and four-time Golden Glove winner logged a career 224 homers and 1,833 hits for a .266 average. He made only two errors in the entire 1985 season.
