We are what we eat

Nutrition Vibrations

By MOLLY PEPPO

As we seek balance with our earth, food and nutrition, what we eat becomes less of a mathematical and scientific equation, and more of a simple appreciation of the synergy found in whole foods and the energy and creation found in that process.

The goal of feeding ourselves is to sustain our individual energy levels throughout the day, and feel a sense of balance and energy. We are all of different metabolisms and constitutional types and must individualize our diet to meet those needs and do what makes us feel our best, and this includes the food that we eat as well as the environment that affects our emotions.

Our bodies in many ways are microcosms of our planet. By keeping ourselves clean, clear and strong mentally and physically, we build a foundation for projecting that into the community. Therefore we eat organic so that we keep our bodies clean and clear of pesticides and toxins, our foods are tastier and more nutrient dense, and we support local and organic farmers. By consumer demand we can consciously support farmers that don’t allow the topsoil to be destroyed.

Fundamentally, what we eat and how it’s produced and transported to us is who we are.

The culture of disease and apathy to the culture of creation, health and personal involvement needs to be changed. The culture of disease can be defined as one that promotes chemical substances as food, pumps cows full of estrogen and antibiotics, promotes pharmaceuticals as cure-alls and processed foods as sustenance. These are very damaging practices to the balance of our ecology.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said at the Sun Valley Wellness Festival this spring, that this is the “most uninformed public in history.” As a nation, Americans seem to give little thought to food, validity of information or the environment.

Perhaps through better food choices it’s possible to learn what sort of food and environment sustains life. Perhaps by consciously determining what we put into our bodies and minds, it’s possible to create healthier and more sustainable practices, and to quicken the shift to a culture that supports creation, bringing harmony to the community.

It’s liberating and energizing to live in a way that sustains the environment, our physical bodies and our collective and individual consciousness. This is our nutrition. No amount of food and counting calories and grams of fat can feed a hungry soul. We can do this by using non-toxic building materials, teaching children to plant gardens and trees and understanding that animals such as cows and pigs are affectionate and have feelings, (not just a commodity to be mass produced and slaughtered). We can create music, be in nature and seek environments and relationships that support and regenerate the light and sense of creation within us. As we project this energetic field externally, this same energy in return will promote and sustain our lives.
