Murphy?s words will be missed

It was with ineffable sadness that I read a letter by Express reporter Pat Murphy letter today.

In the pantheon of elemental changes that should never take place are: the certainty of the rising and setting of the sun; the tranquility and majesty of the mountains; and the presence each month at the Friedman Memorial Airport Authority meetings of the Bard of the written word, the right honorable Pat Murphy.

During your journalistic coverage of the authority and the people who serve it over the years, you have set new standards for honesty, truthfulness, accuracy and comprehension. Every journalist, as a result of your integrity and skill, has a new and insurmountable height to achieve. I wish incoming authority reporter Jon Duval the best, but he has infallible and un-flllable shoes to wear.

I will miss you as a journalist, but I will miss even more knowing that what was said Tuesday night at airport meetings will be the same as what I read in the next issue of the Express.

Good luck and a healthy and happy future.
