Millie Shipp


Mildred "Millie" Elizabeth James Shipp, 67, of Idaho Falls, died July 26, 2007, at her home.

She was born Sept. 19, 1939, in Hailey, Idaho, to Rex William James and Stella Ina Sisiam James. She attended Hailey Elementary and graduated from Hailey High School. She attended a year at Ricks College.

She married LeRoy LaVerne Shipp June 13, 1960, in Elko, Nev. They were later divorced. She worked as a housekeeper, dishwasher, waitress and general laborer in restaurants and hotels in Hailey, Sun Valley and Idaho Falls.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed attending church, adding to her collections, visiting with her grandsons and great granddaughters and was always willing to help a friend or a stranger in need.

Survivors include: daughter, Melody (Ignacio) Aguilar of Idaho Falls, Idaho; brother, Daryl (Janis) James of Hailey, Idaho; sister, Anita (Delbert Sr.) McMurdo of Hailey, Idaho;sister, Rosa Stinett of Hailey, Idaho; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her ex-husband; and an infant daughter, Cynthia Ann Shipp.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at the Hailey Cemetery, with Darby James officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, Idaho Falls.

Burial will be in the Hailey Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
