RECENT RESULTS

Casino Club 22, View Point 13

The Casino dealt the Point its first loss on the season the old fashioned way -- they hit the stuffing out of the ball. The visiting Casbah stormed into the lead--one it would never relinquish--on a grand slam by Mark Belanger in the first inning. Ever the champion, View Point came back with a 5-run effort in the third to make it a 7-6 ball game. T.J. Peterson jacked a homerun and Wendy Hosman came up with a big 3-run triple. Both teams scored seven runs over the next two innings, and the Point trailed 14-13 after five and 15-13 after six innings. In the seventh, Belanger (double) kicked off a 7-hit, 7-run rally featuring a big 2-run double by Kitten who burned the Point's pressing outfielders. Kevin Booth's single scored two. The Casino's defense rose to the occasion, sending View Point down in four in the final two stanzas. Casino (27 hits): Matt Stacey 4 hits (2 HR/2 doubles), 2 runs. Mark Belanger 4 hits (grand slam/double), 3 runs, 6 RBI. Craig Morse 3 hits (2 doubles), 3 runs. Sarah Torres 1 hit, 2 runs. Kathy Baker 1 hit, 2 runs. View Point (22 hits): T.J. Peterson 3 hits (2 HR/double), 2 runs. Jeff Sarchett 3 hits (2 doubles), 2 runs. Rod Watson 3 hits (2 doubles), 2 runs. Sue Mulcahy 3 singles, 2 runs. Wendy Hosman 2 hits (triple/double), 1 run. Georgia Hutchinson 2 hits, 1 run.

Color Haus 17, Kavanaugh Construction 9

Color Haus regained its footing over a Kavanaugh squad missing some key players. The Shamrocks might have been less likely to stand seven base runners with Shannon Flavin and Kirsten Swenson in the lineup. The Haus put 12 over home plate by the third, and rolled to their third win of the season. Kavanaugh got hung with the loss but this was a good warm up for tonight's game against the Firefighters. Color Haus (22 hits): John Rathfon 4-for-4 (grand slam/double), 4 runs. Jeff Burrell 3-for-3, 4 runs. Shannon Webb 3 hits (double), 2 runs. M.J. Musselman 3 hits (double), 1 run. Twyla Bulcher 2 hits, 2 runs. Chris Benson HR/single. Kavanaugh (16 hits): Sean Harrington 3 hits (HR/double), 2 runs. Molly McCready 3 hits, 2 runs. Trey Knox 2 hits (double), 2 runs. Jeff Heinke 2 doubles, run. Angie Clark hit, run.

Lefty's Bar & Grill 10, Stafftopia/Group 6 9

Call it hormonal swings. You never know what to expect from Lefty's, who vacillates from giant killers to you're killing me week to week. Stafftopia is the best losingest team in the league and almost nabbed win #2. Benji Hill set the table for the upset with a two-run homer in the first and followed it up with a triple in the third. Tom Moreland also tripled in the third to stake Stafftopia to a 6-5 lead. Group 6 tried to deep six Lefty's with three more runs in the seventh and were threatening with the bases loaded before Lefty's nabbed the third out. Trailing 9-7, Buff Rixon, Brenda Blackwell and Anthony Anderson all singled and scored. Anderson plated the game-winning run on the hot flash of Dave Hasumann's bat. Lefty's (15 hits): Brenda Blackwell 3 hits (double), 3 runs. Dave Hausmann 3 hits (triple/2 doubles), 2 runs. Buff Rixon 3 hits, 2 runs. Anthony Anderson 2 hits (double), 2 runs. Wendy Speth 1 hit. Stafftopia (16 hits): Chad Pringle 3 singles, 1 run. Benji Hill 2 hits (HR/triple), 2 runs. Tom Moreland 2 hits (triple/double), 2 runs. Erin Resko 1 hit, 1 run. Karen Morrison 1 hit, 1 run.

High Altitude Fitness 31, Scott USA 9

Scott got chicked -- and not in the good Flavor Flav kind of way. Of the 34 hits High Altitude swatted, half of them were off women's bats and the five women in the lineup accounted for more than half the team's runs. Not stats you usually see in coed softball, but we like it. Keep winding that clock, sistas. A 12-run, 13-hit first frame effort by the Fitness crew doomed Scott to its sixth straight loss. HAF (34 hits): Sarah Parker 5 singles, 5 runs. Jill Gardner 4 doubles, 3 runs, 6 RBI. Jessica Kool 4 hits, 3 runs. Chris Warrington 4 hits (2 HR/double), 2 runs, 9 RBI. Eric Palmer 4 doubles, 3 runs, 6 RBI. Shasta Mayhew 3 hits (2 doubles), 4 runs. Scott (9 hits): Jimmy Bowman 3 hits (2 doubles), 2 runs. Allison Bigsby 2 hits, 1 run. Tiffany Larson 1 hit, 2 runs. Ryder Oyen 1 hit, 1 run. Jason Haase 1 hit, 1 run.
