Hailey police are investigating another car burglary that took place during the weekend, which makes about a dozen vehicle break-ins reported in the city during the past several weeks.

The newest one took place sometime between Friday and Sunday at Copper Ranch on the southeast side of the city.

Two golf clubs were taken from an unlocked vehicle, said Police Chief Brian McNary. "A three wood and five wood, and they left the other clubs behind." The police said the value of the stolen clubs is about $100.

One arrest was made in early June, but the thefts have continued.

Only one of the thefts was by forced entry. Vehicles were left unlocked in the others.

"Lock your cars and houses," advised police Sgt. Steve England. "It's not 1980 in Hailey anymore. A lot of thieves are opportunistic and will get in and take things if it's not locked."
