2007 Ketchum Coed Softball League

View Point 4-0 56 28

Color Haus 3-0 63 22

Lefty's Bar & Grill 2-1 38 33

Firefighters 2-2 47 43

Kavanaugh Construction 2-2 47 45

Casino Club 2-2 61 50

Stafftopia/Group 6 1-2 42 48

High Altitude Fitness 0-3 25 45

Scott USA 0-4 10 75

Lefty's Bar & Grill 14, High Altitude Fitness 9

I know it's softball, but HAF was missing some hockey players. The closest High Altitude Fitness ever got was the four runs in the first inning. Lefty's always maintained a lead and kicked it up to an 8-run advantage in the middle innings. Five Carpet Sharks -- Brenda Blackwell, Anthony Anderson, Bryan Speth, Kyle Rushton and Tuck Hall -- enjoyed three-hit nights. Tony Mallane (single/run) started off a decisive rally in the fourth featuring nine hits (5 consecutive) and seven runs. The Bus Driver again proved to be the best pickup of the season with a team-high four RBI. Lefty's (24 hits): Tuck Hall 3 hits (HR/double), 3 runs, 2 RBI. Anthony Anderson 3 hits (HR/double), 2 runs. Bryan Speth 3 hits (double), 2 runs. Brenda Blackwell 3 hits, 2 runs. Nicole Buchwalter 2 singles, 2 runs. Wendy Speth 2 hits (triple), 1 run. Dave Hausmann 2-for-2, run. High Altitude (19 hits): Kathy Kerrick 4-for-4. Austin 4 hits, 1 run. Ken Pierce 3 hits, 2 runs. Lee Ritzau 2 hits, 2 runs.

Casino Club 18, Firefighters 3

Casino Club was fanning the flames, but the Firefighters had already doused one fire that day and could not stop the burn of the Casbah's bats. Casino snapped a two-game losing streak in which they went 26-for-71 as a team (.273) to go 22-for-44 (.500) against the Firefighters. Maybe they like the friendly confines of Field #1? Both losses were on the upper field. No matter, the Casbah's offense and defense were groovin' like Smoky Robinson and like Mrs. Robinson they scored at will. Forget plastics. Bring on the aluminum. Casino (22 hits): Matt Stacey 3 hits (triple), 2 runs. Kevin Booth 3 hits (double), 1 run. Lisa Valdama 3 hits, 1 run. Sarah Torres 2 hits, 2 runs. Joe Reali 2 hits (double), 3 runs. Firefighters (9 hits): Matt Christian 2 hits. Keith Potter double, run. Lacy Thompson double, run. Ken Edwards single, run. Sandy Hagel double.

View Point 11, Kavanaugh Construction 7

On paper, a pretty good game for Kavanaugh, who held the undefeated Point to their fewest hits and runs in four games -- on the upper field no less. While Kavanaugh played some great defense, View Point was equally adept in the field and committed no errors to the construction crew's two. After surrendering a solo home run to Gary Anton (2 hits, 2 runs) in the second, the Point held tight, allowing only one runner to reach third until the final frame when Kavanaugh (9 LOB) busted loose for six runs. View Point (14 hits): Jeff Sarchett 3-for-3 (all doubles), 2 runs. Kenny Nelson 3 hits (HR/double), 1 run. Geo Tognoni 2 doubles, 1 run. Sharon Stewart 1 hit, 1 run. Tommie Mawby 1 hit, 1 run. Kavanaugh (15 hits): Elisa Tobia 3 hits, 1 run. Melinda Milner 2 hits, 1 run. Shannon Flavin 2 hits, 1 run.

Color Haus 22, Scott USA 3 (five innings)

Color Haus has yet to play a full seven innings this season and on opposite sides of the softball spectrum, Scott offered little resistance to a team which will most certainly give league-leading View Point all it can handle when they meet on July 11. Call it Guys Gone Wild. The men of the Haus let loose with five extra-base hits in the first inning, including a homerun by Josh Jacobson, triples by Bryan Burrell and Phillip Uhrig, and doubles by Eric Demment and Jeff Burrell. The women were no less impressive with 3-for-3 nights by Sarah Benson, Kathy Seal and Twyla Bulcher. As a team, the Haus batted a whopping .682. Hang on, Smoopie. Color Haus (28 hits): Josh Jacobson cycle (HR/triple/double/single), 2 runs. Jeff Burrell 3 doubles, 3 runs. Phillip Uhrig 3 hits (triple/double), 3 runs. Sarah Benson 3 hits, 3 runs. Kathy Harper 3 hits, 2 runs. Twyla Bulcher 3 hits, 1 run. Scott (8 hits): Jason Haase 2 hits (IPHR), 1 run. Brian Fullerton 2 hits, 2 runs. Kristen Cheatwood double.
