Recreation district announces Pepsi winners

Local youngsters participate in pitch, hit and run competition


Wood River Little League and the Blaine County Recreation District have announced the winners from the Pepsi Pitch, Hit and Run Competition held April 28 at Nelson Field in Hailey.

Some 120 local youngsters competed in the baseball skills competition. Scores were determined by individual performance in each of the pitch, hit and run competitions.

Ages 7-8

Pitch champion: Cade Schott, 375 points.

Hit champion: Nathan Lambert, 180 points.

Run champion: Alex Venslauskas, 222 points.

First place all-around champion: Alex Venslauskas, 536 points.

Second place: Brock Mary, 494 points.

Third place: Cade Schott, 440 points.

Ages 9-10

Pitch champion: Gage Jorgensen, 654 points.

Hit champion: Anders Fortuin, 302 points.

Run champion: Cameron Benson, 285 points.

First place all-around champion: Cameron Benson, 722 points.

Second place: Anders Fortuin, 671 points.

Third place: Gage Jorgensen, 654 points.

Ages 11-12

Pitch champion: K.J. Savaria, 325 points.

Hit champion: Mark Karlovich, 372 points.

Run champion: Braxton Parish, 338 points.

First place all-around champion: K.J. Savaria, 836 points.

Second place (tie): Braxton Parish and Drew Barsch, 776 points each.

Third place: Jon Paris, 738 points.
