The Hailey Police Department arrested a 25-year-old Hailey man early Monday morning for allegedly stealing some $1,000 worth of merchandise from a vehicle parked on Woodside Boulevard.
Carlos Nunez-Regaldo was booked into the Blaine County Jail on suspicion of felony burglary after he was apprehended at the scene of the alleged crime around 4 a.m.
Police were called to 3960 Woodside Blvd. shortly after 3:30 a.m. by resident Chad Crane, who reported that some items were missing from his pickup, and that the same items were inside a 1997 Saturn parked nearby.

Hailey Patrolman Raul Ornelas said Nunez-Regaldo rode up on a bicycle while police were investigating and told officers he came to get the Saturn for a friend who was too intoxicated to drive it. However, a vehicle identification check revealed that the car belonged to Nunez-Regaldo, Ornelas said.
He said items recovered included a stereo, a large CD collection, binoculars and an air tool.
Police Chief Brian McNary said investigators are trying to determine if Nunez-Regaldo was involved in several other vehicle break-ins in Hailey during the past several weeks.
McNary said police suspect the bicycle, a purple model for women, was also stolen.
