The second installment of the four-week Wood River Cup short track mountain bike racing series was staged at Croy Canyon last Wednesday.
Organizer Sam Cochran said around 100 people turned out to race and watch despite the cool temperatures and cloudy skies.
The event, sponsored by Sun Valley Road and Dirt, attracted 54 competitors to the track on the backside of Rotarun Ski Area west of Hailey.
Class champions were Cody Peterson, India Wysong, Scott Krankkala, Jim Santa, Kasey Hochmuht, Lucas Vorsteveld, Chase Josey, Haley Montgomery, Ryder Price and Anja Jensen.
The series continues each Wednesday through June 20—finishing up with the finals on Saturday, June 30 at Rotarun.
Registration opens at 5 p.m. each Wednesday. Entry fees are $12 per day or $60 for series.
The "B" race (20 minutes and a lap) for all Sport and Novice riders starts at 6:30 p.m. The Shimano Youth Series (free entry and medals for all racers under 12) gets underway at 7:10 p.m. The "B" race (40 minutes and a lap) for Pros and Experts begins at 7:30 p.m.
