James Marvin McRoberts passed away on May 16, 2007.
He was born on May 31, 1914, in Sultan, Wash. On Jan. 5, 1942, he married Lila Olilvia Hanka, who grew up in Minnesota.
After living in Ketchum, Idaho, he and Lila moved to southern California where he supported the war effort as a journeyman machinist helping to construct fighter planes for Lockheed Aircraft.
In the late 1950s, he and his family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where Jim worked for Lockheed Missiles and Space contributing to the Gemini and the Apollo space programs.
Jim and Lila helped co-found Saratoga Country Club in the late 1950s where they enjoyed their many friends and played golf, a game they both loved.
In 2005 Jim and Lila moved to Utah and then to Corvallis, Ore., where they lived at West Hills Assisted Living Community.
Jim is survived by his wife, Lila. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Jan. 5, 2007.
Jim is also survived by his children, Greg Harvey McRoberts of Milpitas, Calif., and Karen Olivia (McRoberts) Peck of Blodgett, Ore. Jim has two grandchildren, Stephanie Ann Spencer of Portland, Ore., and Kristen Lynn Spencer of Palo Alto, Calif.
Jim enjoyed a most fortunate life. He is loved and will be missed by his family and his friends.
