Feng Shui starts at home

Ancient practice befits modern world

Do your surroundings keep you from reaching your potential? International Feng Shui expert Marie Diamond believes that how you use your home or workplace can help achieve your ultimate desires.

Diamond will speak at the Sun Valley Wellness Festival from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 26, in the Continental Room at the Sun Valley Inn.

Her lecture will focus primarily on how to work with "The Secret" in one's home. Diamond's work has brought her global recognition, with high-profile business and celebrity clients, in part due to the success of the film "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne, a feature-length documentary with historic accounts of a 4,000-year-old idea.

"I am going to present as a speaker of the movie 'The Secret,' and apply it to your home and how to use the laws of attraction in your home," Diamond said.

Feng meaning wind and Shui meaning water has been practiced for over 5,000 years Diamond finds Feng Shui to be more a powerful force than a passing trend. A resident of the United States for just six years, Diamond rose to Feng Shui international prowess through her teachings, found by millions through the film "The Secret" and her own self realizations.

"It started when I was 15 years old almost 30 years ago," she said. "I had a major accident. I actually had three accidents in one year and the third one almost killed me.

"Out of a coma, I asked a spiritual mentor what I did wrong. He told me I didn't do anything wrong, I just had bad Feng Shui."

As a lawyer and criminologist for Belgian and European governments, Diamond has practiced the principles of Feng Shui for more than 20 years.

"We live in time and space and we need to get to the right angel to get to that almighty energy," Diamond said. "Based on your birthday and applying Feng Shui principles based on the laws of attraction, you will achieve success in health, relationships and wisdom."

Diamond reads homes based on the principles of Feng Shui and tells her clients what they are sending out to the universe, usually the opposite of what they believe.

"People who attract happiness and good luck will implement that into their homes. It always starts with giving away."
