Sorry for falling short

Concerning my walk for our disabled military servicemen: For those who donated to my walk to raise money to assist the Sun Valley Adaptive Sports program to bring additional disabled servicemen to the valley, I wish to apologize for not completing my planned walk. I was unable to finish the distance I had set of 68 miles due to poor management on my part and dumb luck.

The poor management was due to my not arranging enough support staff. I didn't take into account the fact that many people who could volunteer to meet me along the way would be out of town at this time of year. The staff I was able acquire was wonderful, but I ended up with no one lined up to meet me with food, clothing and hydration along the last 28 miles of my trek.

However, I could have persevered even then except for my own dumb luck. At 3 a.m., during my first rest stop at Ohio Gulch Road, I dropped one of my 2 water bottles and broke it—consequently, by 1 p.m., I was forced to end my walk after only 13 hours and 39 miles due to a rather serious dehydration problem.

Again, I apologize, but hopefully we helped bring at least one additional injured serviceman to the valley for Sun Valley Adaptive Sports.
