Sun Valley Ballet dancers will perform Thursday and Friday. The senior company includes, seated left to right: Kelsey Player, Kayla Harrison, Mareena Moss, Allison Sher; standing, left to right, Kathryn Caminit, Kelsey Brennan, Nina Hirner, Bowe Bergdahl, Charlie Lewallen, Ross Clifford. Morgan Nelson, Allison Rust and Tanner Dredge.

For graduating seniors Kayla Harrison and Mareena Moss, these are bittersweet days. They are rehearsing for their final performance with the Sun Valley Ballet School with whom they've danced their entire childhood.

The Ballet School will showcase all its 135 dancers, from 3 years old to 21, at the nexStage Theatre in Ketchum at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1, and Friday, May 18,

Many facets of dance styles will be represented from ballet and lyrical ballet to modern and jazz. The recital format was employed as a way of "getting the dancers outside the box a little," Ballet School Director Jill Brennan said. "There'll be a lot of fun stuff."

Dancing to an Otis Redding song, Harrison and Moss, who are best friends, will do a tongue-in-cheek number together about friendship, called "Otis." Each dancer also will do a solo.

"I'm a little depressed that it's my last dance with them," Harrison said.

Indeed, she has been one of Sun Valley Ballet School's foremost dancers for many years. Undoubtedly, they will be missing her and Moss as well.

The youngest dancers will split the two nights, with the Hailey dancers in one show and the Ketchum dancers in the other. The senior dancers will take the stage both nights.

The Sun Valley Ballet School is a 501c3 organization, which presents two full productions per year.

Tickets for the show are available at the door or through the Ballet school at 726- 2985. Adult tickets are $10 and students are $5.
