Investigation leads to meth seizure

The Blaine County Narcotics Enforcement Team seized some $55,000 worth of methamphetamine earlier this week as a part of an ongoing illegal drug investigation that led to the arrests of 11 people on April 11.

A news release from the narcotics team reported that 25 ounces of the illegal substance was found following issuance of a search warrant at a location the team declined to identify. The press release reported that the confiscated methamphetamine was linked to Tristar P. Ontiveros, a 30-year-old Hailey man who was charged last week with two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine and single counts of delivery of the drug and failure to affix drug tax stamps.

Announcement of the methamphetamine seizure was made shortly before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17.

An undisclosed amount of cocaine and methamphetamine was also seized during the April 11 drug raids.

The narcotics team reported that the investigation is still under way as detectives follow up on leads and new information.
