The Wood River Warriors lacrosse team put another tally in the win column, beating Vallivue 10-3 on Tuesday.
"We won three-quarters of the face-offs and picked up the majority of the ground balls," Warrior board member Jay Bailet said. "We played pretty good defense, too."
Athletes who know their way around a hockey rink, looked equally at ease on the long grass at Mountain Home.
Blake King, David Dredge and Noah Lindley scored two goals each. Jeff Conover, Cord Roth, Jake Robinson and Luke McNees slotted single scores.
"A couple of guys really stepped up on defense as well," said Bailet, citing the play of Casey Bennett and Soren Ireland.
The team's record is now 2-1.
The Warriors, with coaches Andy Sabitier, Adam Swain, Todd Ruport and Billy Baybutt, will host Bishop Kelly in their home opener on Saturday at 2 p.m. at O'Donnell Field in Bellevue.
Play dates for the remainder of the regular season include: April 21 vs. Timberline, April 24 at Centennial (Mountain Home), April 28 at Mountain View, May 1 at Vallivue (MH), May 5 vs. Meridian, May 8 at Capital (MH) and May 12 at Boise.
