Heritage plan right on

The Sun Valley Gallery Association would like to express our elation over the groundbreaking on the Fourth Street Heritage Corridor and the first major undertaking of the Ketchum Downtown Master Plan!

We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to the members of the Ketchum Community Development Corporation, the Town Design Team, and all of the numerous community volunteers for their hard work and commitment to the creation and implementation of the Ketchum Downtown Master Plan, and to the city of Ketchum for their vision in bringing about these changes.

After months of surveys, meetings, planning and community speculation, it is refreshing to see the first part of this project moving forward. We hope that the groundbreaking on Fourth Street and the promise it brings for a revitalized downtown will help to re-energize this community and inspire us to rise above the doubt and uncertainty that has overshadowed this project these many months.

Over the past year, we have met with various members of the project committee on several occasions. We have developed a great deal of respect and confidence in the people behind this project, their methods and vision. We all love this little community and want it to be the best it can be. This is our opportunity and it is just what Ketchum needs. Ketchum's chance for real, effective change is before us and we hope that the project under way on Fourth Street helps to reaffirm the good deeds that the CDC is trying to do for our town.

Please support this project and the dedicated people who are making it happen. The Downtown Master Plan has quite a ways to go before it is complete and we hope that everyone will try to envision the end result and the renewed strength it will bring to our community, and smile while we walk a bit further to get to the grocery store for a few weeks. After all, isn't that why we live in this beautiful mountain town?

With enthusiastic thanks to the CDC, the TDT and the tireless volunteers,

Sun Valley Gallery Association

Ketchum
