Get ready for a great season on the diamond!

Kids register for baseball, softball this week

Kids, you need to sign up this week if you want to play baseball and softball in the Blaine County Recreation District's 2007 Wood River Youth Baseball, Softball and T-Ball spring and summer program.

South county families will register tonight, Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in The Community Campus foyer in Hailey. Ketchum-area families will sign up Thursday, April 12 from 6-7 p.m. in the Hemingway Elementary School foyer.

The 2007 season generally runs from May 7 to mid June with games on weeknights and Saturdays. Cost of $50 per person includes shirt, hat and tax. If you sign up late (after April 27), the cost of playing increases to $60 per person.

All players in the program must be five years and older by April 30, 2007 and all kids must play within their age brackets. And there are plenty of age brackets offered.

Games will be played in Hailey at Nelson Field, Woodside Elementary Field, at The Community Campus field, on the Wood River softball field by the high school, and at Atkinson Park in Ketchum.

Coaches' clinics are scheduled for April 14, 16 and 23 and May 3. Here are some other important dates and descriptions of each program:
