"The amazing Tele Parade was my highlight of the season," Sun Valley Telemark Series organizer Danny Walton said about Saturday's 27th annual Hawaiian Nationals and Tandem Telemark Challenge that was a fun end to Baldy's ski winter.
Walton added, "It was a great end to a great season, with over 100 racers Saturday. Thanks to all our local support and sponsors. And it was a great job all winter by the Sun Valley Race Department. We had a great core group of about 30 skiers who made it to all four races this winter."
Fastest two-run combined skiers on the dual giant slalom courses were Tyler Chandler (1:01.84) and Jen King (1:10.17). Tandem winners were Chris Cook and Eric Meyers. Best Dressed were Hawaii 5-0, Ashley Crawford, the Coors cans and The Marching Band.
"Next year will be bigger and better," Walton added.
In the Tandem Telemark Challenge, the top teams were Free Heelers Unit 1:06.26, Rape and Pillage 1:06.63, Team Horizon 1:12.35, Slap & Tickle 1:16.22, Jeremy & Nat 1:22.88, Rookie Luck 1:24.24, Flying Fame Dingos 1:32.51, Team Coors 1:33.23, Gretchen & Gordon 1:39.35 and Joe & The Volcano 1:57.46.
