John Anthony Bonin, 50, of Aurora, Colo., died Friday, Mar. 23, 2007 while visiting Breckenridge, Colo., of natural causes.
He was born Nov. 26, 1956, in Nampa, Idaho, the loving child of Peter D. and Jerry Bonin. As a child, the family moved to Chicago and then to Silver Spring, Md., where John graduated from Montgomery Blair High School and attended Montgomery College. John worked for the Marriott Champions Sports Bar Corp., first in Washington, D.C., and his last position with the Marriott Champions Sports Bar was in Irvine, Calif., where he was a career employee for 24 years. He currently lived in Aurora, Colo. and was planning to move to Jonesborough, Tenn., to be near his brother.
John was an ardent sports fan and collected various sports paraphernalia along with his vast coin collection. John was loved by many and honored as a friend by many more.
John is survived by his parents of Silver Spring, Md., and his brother Ray JK (Linda) Bonin of Jonesborough, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dominic and Mary Bonin of Hailey and his grandparents William A. and Bertha Hurley of Peoria, Ill.
Memorial services will be held later this week in Hailey with inurnment following in the Hailey Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at the historic St. John of Evangelist in Silver Spring, Md. Please contact secretary Carol at the St. John rectory at 301-681-7663 for information.
