Colla Voce, the award winning young women's vocal ensemble, preformed in its annual music review Wednesday and Thursday at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey. They were accompanied by Dorinda Rendahl on piano, along with student musicians Ross Clifford, Brendon Williams, Brian Town, Aimee Loudenslager and Colin Hand.
The ensemble, made up of Wood River High School students, is directed by choir director Max Stimac. It won a gold medal at the Heritage Music Festival in Disneyland in 2006. They have sung for local fundraisers and many private parties. In February, they performed at the non-competitive Boise State University Jazz Festival.
The group consists of Tessa Barrow, Karli Walton, Kami Doan, Patricia McLaughlin, Arielle Mulenos, Madie Deffe, Stephanie Levin, Kaela Prall, Lisl Dye, Logan Young, Brita Gaeddert and Stephanie Sloan.
A quartet called the B-Tones made their "world" premiere at the Wood River concert last week. Joseph Zeman, Colin Hand, Lucas King and Seth Allen are directed by R. L. Rowsey, of the Company of Fools and Sun Valley Summer Symphony School of Music.
"They are the highlight of my week," he said.
Look for Colla Voce at another concert, to be announced in May. It will include all of the school choirs, from sixth grade through high school.
