No to Cove Springs plan

I am the owner of a ranch on the southern boundary contiguous to the proposed Cove Springs development. In my opinion, this development is in the wrong place, at the wrong time because of some of the following reasons:

1. The access road to this development is on their southern property line where all access traffic is within 100 yards of an occupied home. This is not something that good neighbors would do.

2. The proposed cesspool is located on the southern property line near Gannett Road and an occupied home. Two domestic wells and two irrigation wells are close by. This is not something that good neighbors would do.

3. The use of this cesspool is to help recharge the aquifer. This is bad information. I have seen 15-plus neighboring well logs and every log provides data that multiple clay layers exist subsurface causing surface water to percolate laterally rather than vertically. All neighboring wells are subject to this cesspool water. I question why, if the treated water is uncontaminated, why not place the cesspool water in the center of their development as a pond. The mosquitoes produced by this stagnant pool water could feast on their creators.

4. This project is a worst case scenario for "leap frog" development. This is a true taboo for any P&Z department nationwide.

5. Cove Springs! I don't get it. Although there is one spring on the property, it is meager at best. There are other springs in the vicinity but they are on BLM and/or state-owned property. The ponds that are around the existing homes are dry during the winter and only fill with surface ditch water during irrigation season.
