Express Publishing, the Idaho Mountain Express' parent company, released a new magazine today, March 28. Sun Valley Guide Habitat, a full-color glossy publication, is the company's first foray into the home and garden magazine arena.
Habitat's inception turns the Wood River Valley's most widely read lifestyle magazine, the Sun Valley Guide, into a quarterly publication—published in summer, fall, winter, and, now, spring.
While it retains some elements familiar to readers of the 24-year-old Sun Valley Guide magazine, Habitat is a new publication with a fresh design and a strong home-and-garden focus.
The content has been devised to provide readers with both decadent glimpses into luxurious lifestyles and practical advice on how you can enhance your own home and garden: your habitat.
Habitat uses the expertise of local resources and writers to bring an aesthetically pleasing yet eminently practical magazine to the valley, one that can be read and referred to year round.
The premiere issue features a tour of a spectacular mid-valley home, inspired by the River Run Lodge. There is also a comprehensive guide on how to collect fine art and decorate your home with it, no matter your budget, and—essential reading for any would-be remodeler—a diary of a condominium remodel, undertaken in 23 days.
Other features focus on how to organize your kitchen, how to create more space in your home, what the hottest new trends in home furnishings are, how best to grow tomatoes in the Wood River Valley, and how by selecting a charismatic chair, you can infuse a room with instant personality.
Pick up a free copy of Habitat, located on racks throughout the valley. Call 726-8060 for the location of your nearest copy, or view the publication in full online at www.svguide.com.
