Dolan makes final 5 for judge post

Ketchum attorney Dan Dolan is one of five finalists for a 5th Judicial District magistrate judge position in Camas County.

Dolan, along with the other four finalists, will be interviewed for the position on Wednesday, March 28, by the district magistrate commission. The interviews, open to the public, will be conducted at the American Legion Hall, 114 Camas Ave., in Fairfield.

Dolan is first in line with a 10 a.m. interview. He will be followed by the other finalists: Twin Falls attorney Thomas Kershaw Jr., at 10:50 a.m.; Jerome attorney Rockne Lammers at 1 p.m.; Kellogg attorney Jay Sturgell at 1:50 p.m., and Minidoka County Prosecuting Attorney Jason Walker at 2:40 p.m.

Following the interviews, the magistrate commission will convene privately to make its selection.

The applicant selected for the position will replace Camas County Magistrate Judge John Varin, who will be retiring on May 31.
