Accomplished Broadway singer lights up Hailey

Teri Bibb joins R.L. Rowsey for a musical evening

Broadway performer and entertainer Teri Bibb will perform at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey.

Company of Fools is holding a special fundraising event, "An Evening with Teri Bibb: Broadway Star of The Phantom of the Opera," at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 16, at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey. Tickets for the performance are $75.

Bibb, a Broadway soprano and close friend to the Company of Fools' R.L. Rowsey, will perform a selection of songs accompanied by Rowsey on piano. In addition, there will be an intimate reception with Bibb at the home of renowned chef Judith McQueen. This special VIP event will include hors d'oeurves and cocktails. Tickets for the VIP concert and reception are $150.

Bibb is widely known for her role of Christine in "The Phantom of the Opera." She performed the role more than 1,000 times on Broadway including a national tour. She earned a Helen Hayes Award nomination and a Carbonell Award, which recognizes and honors excellence in theater and the arts throughout South Florida.

Bibb has played the role of Amalia in the Broadway revival of "She Loves Me," as well as the title role in "Fanny" opposite the late José Ferrer at the Paper Mill Playhouse. She has starred in the world premiere of "Songs From the Tall Grass" at the Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C.

Bibb has been a soloist honoring Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim and Harold Prince. Among them is her performance in "The Broadway Prince" at Carnegie Hall. Bibb has also performed in four annual "The Night of 1,000 Voices" concerts at London's Royal Albert Hall.

In 2002 Bibb starred in "One Enchanted Evening" in Belfast, Ireland, and has sung with orchestras across North America including the Santa Fe, St. Louis, Pacific Symphonies and the New York Pops. She has sung for recordings such as "Unsung Irving Berlin," "A Gala Concert for Hal Prince" and "The Leading Ladies," which is a trio of Broadway's "Christine's" from The Phantom of the Opera that Bibb co-created.

Bibb has sung on several film scores as well including "102 Dalmatians," "Ice Age" and "Polar Express," and this year she was featured as a soloist on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."
