Team effort lifts Bantam skaters

Sun Valley goes 2-1-0 in weekend tourney

An outstanding team effort and solid, disciplined hockey propelled the Sun Valley Youth Hockey Bantams (ages 13-14) to a pair of wins and a 2-1-0 record last weekend in a mini-tournament on Sun Valley ice.

Sun Valley defeated Bountiful (Utah) twice by scores of 5-3 and 8-0. Goalie Cody Levitan stopped 35 of the 38 shots he faced in the 5-3 victory Friday, and goalie Cassidy Carson (23 saves) registered the 8-0 shutout on Saturday morning.

Davis Hague had three assists in the first win and Nick Crosby scored four goals in the shutout. Sun Valley also dropped a 6-3 decision to the Idaho Falls Eagles Saturday.

Weekend scoring: Nick Crosby 5 goals/3 assists; Alexander MacMillan 2/4; Tommy Heinrich 2/3; Ian Murphy 2/2; Charlie Evans 2/1; Doogie King 2/1; Davis Hague 0/3; Cassidy Carson 1/0; Zach Sjoberg 0/1; and Jonathan Hobbs 0/1. Also skating were Anthony Martin and Cooper Hanley.
