Born in Porterville, Calif., Oct. 27, 1940, Ron Adams passed away Jan. 16, 2007.
He graduated from Laguna Beach High School, Calif., in 1958 and later obtained his B.S. in landscape architecture from Cal Poly, Pomona, Calif.
Ron was forever grateful to his maternal grandparents, Loren and Hattie O'Kelley, who raised him. When they retired to Laguna Beach in the early 1950s, Ron's love for the ocean and his passion for the sport of surfing began and lasted his entire life.
A resident of Ketchum on and off since 1971, he enjoyed skiing and hiking while engaged in his landscape architecture career.
Ron is survived by Susie, his wife of 42 years, whom he met when she was 17 and he was 19. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Atwood, and her family of Kuna, Idaho; his brother, Cliff McElhanon, and his family of Boise, Idaho; his sister, Beverly Kuykendall, and her family of Sanger, Calif.; his brother, Robert Adams, and his family of Green Bay, Wis.; his cousin, Midge Wheeler-Cooper, of California; and by his trusty dog, Rusty.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held this Saturday, Jan. 27, 1 to 4 p.m., at 181 Bordeaux St., Ketchum. Call 726-5872 for directions.
